Myrickite at two NorCal Rivers

Two rivers in one day! Sparkling green chert, yellow and red jaspers, agate seams, and if you are lucky you might be able to find some myrickite (agatized cinnabar)! This is a beginner level easy trip (1 out of 5 difficulty level). While we will look hard to find these rocks, there is no guarantee that we will find the more rare specimins so keep your eyes peeled!

We'll meet here 38.809548, -123.007126 (just copy and past the coordinates into google maps) at 10am, hunt around for an hour or so, then drive to a different river 25 minutes away, and rockhound there.

What to bring: water, sun protection, a rock pick or hammer, collecting bag, snacks or food (remember to pack out any trash), a keen eye and a sense of adventure!
